family kiddos (That includes Grandma & Grandpa!)...you
know who you are!:
Special
Santa Video Page:
WOW! The year flew by!! It was a
great one though! Family, school, sports,
ups...downs and even a l'il fun ;o) Take some time
and check out this special video Christmas card.
- Brice even decided to delay this website by
reformatting (erasing) my hard drive mid-web
development!! Gotta love him! --
The year at a glance......:
Winter/Spring:
Brice turned 17, Devin
was deeply enthralled in a local basketball tournament.
(They won w inter league (1st place) in Allen Tx.)
Somewhere in there we celebrated my birthday with a
surprise trip to San Diego. I visited a few friends but
promised to return (when it was warmer!!)
Also, Barb stole...I
mean bought a new sled...I mean car! Shiny Hyundai
Sonata - really nice and surprisingly luxurious.
Summer:
Vacation -
During summer break, the boys went on a grand adventure
(vacation) scouting colleges on the West Coast for
Brice!!
Brice & Devin went
kayaking
in beautiful La Jolla, CA., They saw & came within feet
of dolphins, otters & a sea monkey ....(huh?)
I had the opportunity to visit a few of my college
friends many of whom I hadn't seen in decades!
Most were from
college where the kids learned I had a life before
them!
Devin found out my
basketball glory stories were true and Brice learned I
have some very eclectic friends. Over all we
hung out with an actor, mobility specialist,
professional gambler, carpenter and a computer
programmer! At one dinner we h ad
a Lebanese lady, Black ex-rodeo guy...now an actor,
Cajun-French-Black-(TBDF) verifiable genius (nicknamed
'Animal')...and we ate at an authentic Korean
restaurant! Whew!
Devin celebrated
his 13th birthday! Yeah, teen years!! He got his
strangest gift yet....a basketball court!
But perfect
for him!
Fall:
Kids returned to
school.
As always, their educational performance was exceptional!
Brice was:
-
7th in his high
school based on GPA
-
Numero uno of
African Americans!
-
Straight ‘A’s
-
Gifted & talented
program
-
Marching &
symphonic bands
-
4 AP classes!
WOW!
Devin was:
-
Gifted & talented
program
-
Straight 'A's
-
Starting guard on
his basketball team (both teams!)
-
Didn't get
arrested...not even once!!
Becky & Rick came to
the Lone Star state to celebrate Mr. Rick's 24th
birthday! A very special bike cake was
constructed to scale! (well, OK maybe not to scale
but....I've got a lot of space to cover here!).
It was an exciting visit thanks to the newest member of the
Shields family - Smokey the cat!! He and Tang
had a very quick cage match which somehow resulted in
Rick losing suffering a scratched ear!! The dog
& cat walked away hand in hand! (more on that
in Tang's blog, he tells me....:)
Winter:
We had
a small Hmm-hmm... disaster in the house - unfortunately.
It began with a couple cracked tiles, swinging hammers
and debris towards the middle and ended in the
woodlands! Click here to get the real story!

Brice attended the
state band championships! They played really well and
got to wear some really awesome uniforms!!!
But here's the most
representative pic of the real Brice I've ever seen...
Love this pic!!
Last but never least.......

Tangoon's STILL the wonder dog!!!
....but.....He's had a
few minor challenges. ...there was the trip
to the newly opened dog park.... he opted to
lie and watch the other dogs romp and play.
Pretty sure having a good time ....then there was the
cute l'il inquisitive Lab that came to talk to him.
Tang was way too lazy cool to actually
stand, run & play....so he opted to
pee on the cute l'il puppy's head!! Great!
Here
- I'll let him explain himself ====>
